Swansea defender Ashley Williams admits he is facing up to life without Roberto Martinez.
Martinez is believed to be in talks with Wigan - where he played for six years - about taking over from Steve Bruce, who was confirmed as Sunderland's new boss on Wednesday.
Williams does not want to see the Spaniard quit the Liberty Stadium, but said: "Nobody wants the gaffer to leave, we are all his players and he brought most of us to the club. He has done a lot for us all, made us better players, and we all owe him a lot. If he goes then I don't know what will happen to the team. But if he goes and progresses his own career then I can only be happy for him."
He added: "He signed me for Swansea from Stockport and has played me all season in the Championship. That is what I wanted and he has given me the chance to advance my career.
"But if he can now further his career in a higher league then I can only be happy for him.
"You do get used to managers coming and going, it does not seem that anyone stays around for more than a couple of years.
"They either get sacked or move on the better things, it is what football is like.
"If a bigger team comes in for you as a player, then you are expected to go. And it is the same for a manager."

he is showing no ambition. Wigan, dont make me, laugh they will never qualify for europe, never win anything, and never get 60000 fans each week, and never have a huge travelling support, they are nothing, so stick with swansea, however if he really has ambition, the only big job is the Celtic job, one of the biggest clubs in the world
