Sweden's Robin Soderling wore down Czech Tomas Berdych 6-3 3-6 5-7 6-3 6-3 to reach the French Open final for the second year running.
In sweltering conditions, the fifth seed battled back from two sets to one down to clinch victory after three hours and 27 minutes, setting up a final against either Spaniard Rafael Nadal or Jurgen Melzer of Austria.
Soderling began strongly but 15th seed Berdych, in his first Grand Slam semi-final, lifted his game to take the next two sets as Soderling struggled to control his power game.
The Swede hit back to level the match and after trading early breaks in the decider, Soderling broke twice more to reach his second Slam final.
French Open: Saturday 1.30pm LIVE on British Eurosport (Sky 410 / Virgin 521) & on the Eurosport Player.

should not be a problem for rafa ,but i wish soderling wins just to prevent rafa from taking the no.1 ranking from roger ,roger deserves to break the pete sampras record , i believe for just a week it should not be denied
Yesterday I looked at two games from Roland Garros but it was a big difference between the two matches. The first was a match with two players who competed about who had the best serve and who had the best mental strength. But we could not see any difference in which of them had it. A match where two players just made their points on the other's mistakes.
The second match, we thankfully saw how to play tennis in a semifinal of a Grand Slam tournament. I suggest that their coach would send them to visit “Rafael Nadals psychiatric clinic”.
In addition also send them to Manacor to learn how to play tennis, because to play tennis it is not just to have a strong serve, you must also learn how to win points trough a good game without a lot of mistakes. I am also very disappointed with French people. I think they don’t know how to appreciate a good game.

OK Jude, if you wish to be put yourself in that category of people that's fine. You'll be ignored from now on.
People I was absent, my last post was on Fri 4 Jun 8:43PM .. I didn’t whrite this @#$%, of course. Sorry if anyone is insulted and think it was me, no !
so finally my nick is stolen.. I just hope they will leave my e-mail address alone.
Honestly I expected this to happen much earlier ?! :-)
Sadly this is done by people who were chasing me on this forum for a long time, with some breaks.
I’m sorry that I insulted Federer`s fan`s with my “predictions”, but there were some fans who appreciated my later words of admiring towards Federer, and saw it as a sign that people can change.
After that, you could hear from me mostly positive words towards him, but also discussions yes, and passion… but this is all about it ha ? Sharing the opining.
but I can not remember I have ever used some ugly words after all, like they are doing for my favorites..
So b,i,t,c,h, if you think you have won this, no you ain`t !
I will never stop believing. It is my right to believe.
Some good posters will recognize me here again, after some time.. thanks for your support !

Yes YiannisP you did explain yourself sufficiently. However, I still believe you are a complete and utter MORON. I also rather liked the term 'dipstick' that Sanchez-Santos refered to you as the other day. Now get back onto that bandwagon and run along on the back of Soderlings success will you!!
I agree with Gavin! true!
Even if Soderling wins on Sunday it doesn’t matter, we all know he will never be mentioned once he retires, he will never be a great player like Rafa or Roger.
I don’t like Soderling’s attitude, he needs personality lessons before he plays any kind of sport, I think he is such a pathetic arrogant rude person, he has nothing good to say about any other players, simply he is not a sport man with that attitude…
Soderling has been fantastic at RG and i want him to take a step further and win the title. However his SF performance was not good enough to get the job done against Rafa. Hope he steps it up and wins his first GS
All just goes to show how far Murray is off the pace at the sharp end of the big time.

I dont know, the final is hard to predict because we don't know if Söderling can play his best tennis. If he does so it will for sure not be easy for Nadal. We know Nadal's gonna play well like always but what will he do if Söd bangs his first serves in with high %? He didnt play too well today but still he lost his serve only 4 times and 5 sets. For Rafa it will be very different from his previous matches here because he will be under constant pressure 'cause the thing about Söd is that he can hit winners (not just aces) even against him.
To win against Rafa on clay you have to have a huge serve and hit flat and heavy groundstrokes like Söd while all the guys who use a lot of topspin play straight into Rafa's hands. Of course Söd needs to play better than today but dont make too much of this match because Berdych is completely different than Nadal. Berdych is a huge hitter like Söd and he didnt allow him to dominate the rallies the way he likes to. Anyway I cant wait for the final, its more open than for years.
'As I said before, Soderling is going to gun Nadal down. End of story.
He doesn't like the guy and wants his scalp. And I don't blame him.'
Not sure what you mean by the last statement YiannisP, 'And I don't blame him'. Please explain? To me you sound like a bitter Federer fan (no offence to the likes of the genuine fans like Coolworld etc who see appreciate other players and speak sense) who has suddenly jumped on the back of the Soderling bandwagon even though they beat their idol. How strange, incidentally, I supported Federer in last years final (and at the time I was the first to get the boot in about Fed). However, some people grow up over time and become less childish, others don't evidently.
6 times in a row with no serve, ha ha, good sarcasm man :)
Spirited performance from Soderling today & the tournament throughout so far. Hats off to Magnus Norman, he's done a fantastic job with Robin. If Soderling can play like he did against Rafa last year & like Roger in the quarters we should be in for a cracker of a match. I don't think for a second that it will be a walk in the park for Nadal.
Lets face it, Soderling could easily win this final if he is keeping his power accurate. Iam no particular fan of his but hope he wins. I want Nadal and Federer's domination to cease, it's boring. I thought Berdych played more intelligent tennis than Soderling but like Nadal ,Soderling just bulldozers his opponent. Berdych has suddenly fulfilled his potential and it's going to be nice to see him rise higher now.
What is boring was this match (Sod-Berdych). Omg awsome rhythmless match
Those of you that think Nadal had no potential threat, are you kidding yourself?Almagro was a hudge threat.Djokovic was a potential opponent but he crashed out.Not dropping a set at this stage is a great achievement. In 2008, when he was going to play Federer in the final,I remember all the predictions that Federer was a bigger and stronger person then. But he still prevailed and won the final set 6-0.He can win.He has it in him to win.He wants his French title and the number 1 place back. However,Soderling will be difficult to beat.I wish Nadal well.VAMOS RAFA!
