Phil Jagielka accepts Everton could lose key midfielder Marouane Fellaini this summer - if the price is right.
Jagielka was impressed with the performance of Fellaini when in action for England against Belgium in Saturday's friendly international at Wembley. The central defender knows how crucial Fellaini is to the Toffees but is realistic about their chances of keeping him.
He said: "Unfortunately, with the way the club is, if somebody comes in with a £20million-plus offer, the chances are he's going to be sold. We love Felli and we'd love him to stay. There's not been that much transfer talk but we know the situation we're in."
Jagielka added: "We bought him for £16 million and I don't think the club would take a loss.
"He's developed in that time, especially in the last few games of the season, just behind the front one, and he's destroyed teams.
"In terms of marking Felli, he's faster than I remember. He must have put a yard on. I can't stop laughing when I see him and it's not just his hair.
"He's a fantastic player. Belgium have got a few players for the future and, once they kick, on they'll be a team to watch."

If I was not a Manchester United supporter I would support Everton. And if I did support Everton then I would not like to lose a fantastic player like Fellaini. If he and Leighton Baines go, then I can see Moyes going too. I loved the way that both of our teams finished above Liverpool! Same again next season if they both stay put.
For the life of me i cant understand why some rich tycoon wouldnt be interested investing in Everton to give us the push into the top4/6. We have a massive fan base and the potential to challenge the top 6 if we start the season well. I know Leeds gambled and it spectaculary backfired but we dont need to buy a lot of players to be up there, when we play the top 4 we more often than not get results against them at home. 2 or 3 top players added to this squad could be the difference
I don't get to the match these days as much I would like but there would seem (to me anyway) to be a general lack of pace in the Everton team the big Belgian included what the player does well is 'hold the ball up' If Everton want to keep their better players they need to generate some cash into the club Everton have been moving to a new stadium for almost 20 years when the Stadium at Kings Dock fell through Big Joke
Radge2def Saha was not a bad player for Everton he did, however, have too many injuries this being said Jelavic is a (much) better striker. The Croatian only moved from Rangers in January but was the club's top scorer. Be interested to see whether the Loan players are still with Everton next season I am more optimistic now than I have been in a long time
I hope that Moyes will tell any club interested in acquiring Fellaini to get stuffed. Fellaini will be playing up front with Jelavic next season. He is big enough and strong enough to be a hit man up front with Jelevic playing off him. Cahill lost form last season and i hope that Fellaini can take him place. I can see Cahill in a more attacking midfield roll. I am unsure whether Everton need a playmaker, someone who can pass accurately and be strong defensively in front of the back four. David Moyes should retain the existing squad and add some fine tuning. Everton cannot compete with the richer clubs in the Premiership for the most expensive players but we can compete on the field of play. Play strong defensively and hit on the break with accurate passing, use of space and decisive finishing. With the right support for our strikers we can be a problem for any side in the Premiership.
Why is Jagielka passing comment on the possible sale of another player? He is not the manager and therefore such matters have nothing to do with him. He should not be alerting other clubs that Everton are in such a financial mire that they would be willing to accept a 'knock down' price (which £20 million would be) for one of their star assets. Moyes should tell him to keep his trap shut and concentrate on playing football!
I would be sorry to see the player leave Everton as potentially the club now have the best team they have had for years All we need is another striker to take some of the weight off Jelavic As I understand it Fellaini also signed a new contract recently but he will be difficult to replace When he signed the contract I think he said,,,,, He was excited about the future (of the club)
considering the situ at Everton and considering their manager, its a shame that they lose out in the transfer market. Baines, Fellaini, losing Saha to Spurs etc... Saying that, Everton fans know with Moyes at the helm, that you'll be alright and hang in there (even if they deserve more). If there is one manager in the Prem league who deserves a decent war chest every summer, its Moyes.
