Darryl Flahavan is aiming to bounce back from Southend's play-off disappointment when he kicks off the new season as a Crystal Palace player. The 29-year-old goalkeeper has quit the Shrimpers - who were well beaten by Doncaster in their two-legged play-off semi-final last term - and penned a three-year deal at Selhurst Park.
"When you get to the play-offs you have it in the back of your mind that you think you are going up and obviously it was disappointing, especially the manner of the (5-1) second-leg defeat," he told Palace's official website.
"But you have to put it to the back of your mind. It is a new season and, for me, a new start which I am looking forward to.
"I don't like to dwell too much on the past, that has gone now. You have to move on and look forward. Coming here is a big step-up for me and I'm looking forward to it."
