Federer demolishes Safin to reach Wimbledon final

LONDON (AFP) - Roger Federer powered into his sixth consecutive Wimbledon final with a 6-3, 7-6 (7/3), 6-4 win over Russia's Marat Safin on Friday.

World number one Federer will face either Rafael Nadal or Germany's Rainer Schuettler in Sunday's final.

  1. i am really looking forward to this match as well. this series of federer vs nadal will go down in the history books as the greatest rivalry in mens tennis if not the whole world. people here have been talking about the celtics-lakers rivalry being the greatest, but i prefer federer-nadal much more.

    oh, and john, i really dont like people who are prejudiced against a whole nationality. i am an american, but i dont think im better than anybody. people are people no matter the nationality and it depends on that person as to how they act. dont count out all of americans because of the actions of a few. thatd be like me assuming all muslims are terrorists because of a radical few. it just makes no sense. i hate prejudiced people.

  2. I don't care who wins. It would be nice to see Roger hold a title longer than anyone else especially the U.S. who always think they are better than anyone else. It is also nice to see a Spaniard and a Swiss compete as they are both true Gentlemen and so unassuming. I would give my eye teeth to see that game live. Good luck to both of them and may the best man win.
