Barcelona have said they will only sell Brazilian playmaker Ronaldinho for the right price.
Josep Guardiola is looking ahead to the new season after taking over from Frank Rijkaard but Ronaldinho does not figure in his plans.
Barca are ready to listen to offers but insist they will not let him go at a discount.
"Ronaldinho is a player of great value and we will only sell if we get a proper price," vice president Ferran Soriano told reporters.
"If we don't get it, he won't go."
Manchester City have been tracking Ronaldinho since the end of last season and are believed to have held discussions with the player's representatives on at least one occasion.
A deal is thought to have been agreed but it is unclear whether the 28-year-old would prefer to move elsewhere.
Milan have previously admitted their interest in Ronaldinho but only for a 'reasonable' price.

I DONT KNOW BUT I THINK PLAYERS SHOULD NOT BE EVALUATED BASED ON WHAT HE DID IN THE PAST BUT WHAT THE ARE DOING AT PRESENT AND AT PRESENT DINHO IS A FLOP, AN OVERWEIGHT 28 YEAR OLD. ONLY AN IDIOT WILL SPILL BIG MONEY TO LAND A PLAYER WHO IS ALREADY PAST HIS PRIME AND WILL TURN 30 IN TWO YEARS TIME I THINK THE 15M PRICE TAG IS JUST RIGHT
barca will at least need to be offered about 35 to 70 million for the brazilian
i dunno if pep's plan is gonna work without ronnie, does his plan involve no playmakers!! i'm sure hes just saying that now but when ronnie stays and pep's first matches are not working as well as he thinks he'll beg ronaldinho to come back and play in the first squad
Ronnie is going nowhere this summer, he'll play alongside Messi yet again next season, maybe with David Villa upfront..:) Pep, you have just had to deal with it...
SHUT UP PAPATTACK, DINHO S NOT AS CHEAP AS U THINK
City are set to buy Ronaldinho for at least £15 million!
