Senna played well against Russia because he was able to keep Ashavin quiet. He kept Ballack quiet, He kept Pirlo quiet and C.Ronaldo was no where to be seen at Euros. Nobody is saying anything about them. The world does not revolve round England. Their are other countries in this world with wonderful players in their home league. They guy earns 3m euros a year in Russia and is the best player their and he also won the UEFA cup and got to the Semis in Euro08. He was the chief tormentor in Englands loss to Russia. The guy is worth 30m. If Chelsea paid almost that much for Shevi at 30 then they guy is worth more than that. I didn't hear anything about shevi's age when chelsea doled out cash for him.
Jose should concentrate on Inter and mind his business. He played Lampard always so he can't complain about Ashavin. Better than Lampard by miles. Put lampard in Zenith lets see whether he can carry the team

i think mr mourinho is just givin u his own personal reason for not makin a bid asharvin which goes to no issue whether he is a great player or not. i think asharvin has the makin of a great player. for him to do wht he did in those two matches was absolutely unbelievable. only great players like maradona, pele, zidane had done so. and also even great players have their off days they are also human. spain played xavi, senna, fabregas, iniesta in their midfield. they are all world class players. they all had eye for asharvin and effectively shut him out. senna's tackles were world class. asharvn didnt stand any chance.if it takes that much high pedigree midfielders to shut asharvin out how many teams have that much of high profile midfielders. certainly, bayern munich did. look at what he did to them. mourinho knows he doesnt stand much chance of gettin the player so he comes up with some excuses. he is simply jealous

eventhough i hate mourinho but i've to admit he got spot on here. arshavin is just overrated, look at him during Spain games, where is he.. sleeping on the pitch maybe..:) i hope chelsea will sign him and not Barca..

I think Arshavin is a good player not a great player but can develop quicker to a great player, if He has an apportunity to play in one the trongest league (Seri A, Premiership and La Liga) as He already got talent.

as i am portuguese i didn´t needed translation on Mourinho´s interview, i do understand what he means...Arshavin really is a good player,but he´s already 27 y.old...why only got noticed now ? problem with most eastern countries players is that they are not mentally strong and often fail under pressure, look what happened to Russia twice with Spain, the Czechs, and the 7-1 beat up Portugal presented them with in qualifying for WC 2006; not to mention Ukraine was not qualified as well as Hungary,Bulgaria and so on.to play in EPL, La Liga or Serie A, a player must perform way above the level they play in smaller leagues, hence Mourinho´s doubts

Lampard is better than Arshavin?? Who is he trying kid?! When Arshavin came back for Russia he changed the whole dynamics of Russia's game, and when they played Holland ( who were undoubtly the best team until 1/4 finals) he simply stole the show- Lampard couldn't do that against against Macedonia!!!. Lampard is not even better than Gareth Barry. I used like Mourhino but he is up his on ar*e now- a bit too much for my liking!
