To comment 2: I guess your second string are second rate then. Should've put men in instead of boys.
If the Lions tours are played to boost the development of Rugby in the host nations then we have to question whether there is any benefit in developing such thuggery; which should not be entertained on a rugby field? Perhaps it should be face to face in a ring?
It is a hard sport and the rules should be applied to protect hard players.
We have to question the merit of any further Lions tours to South Africa if the hosts game is to be "win at all costs", more foul than fair!
What must the next generation of international players think?
I love the game, but am fearful of where it is going in SA.
Well, with the number of injuries on the British and IRISH Lions (Yahoo take note), the Boks were facing the Lions second string today also. Overall they did a great job in the face of an overly aggressive home side.
The boks needed to give the second string a go ... :)
Its clear: The Springboks let the Lions win.
