Real Madrid need to sign two more players and off-load about 10 to round off their summer transfer dealings, club president Florentino Perez has said.
The nine-times European champions have already splashed around 215 million euros (£185m) on bringing striker Karim Benzema, winger Cristiano Ronaldo, playmaker Kaka and defender Raul Albiol to the Bernabeu.
"Now we need to calm down a little because squads usually have around 25 players and ours now has some 35," Perez told Spanish television station Cuatro.
"We need to concentrate our efforts on convincing some players that they will have to leave. It should not be forgotten there is a World Cup next summer and all our players want to play in it.
"If players aren't going to have the chance to participate here they'll want to do it somewhere else, to be able to make it to the World Cup.
"As to new signings, I think with two more we would have sufficient."
Perez was asked about Real's interest in Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery and Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso.
"They are both great players but their clubs don't want to sell them, though in the world of football situations can change," he added.
Real have already sold Javier Saviola, and the Dutch contingent of Ruud van Nistelrooy, Arjen Robben, Wesley Sneijder, Rafael van der Vaart, Royston Drenthe and Klaas Jan Huntelaar are all reportedly on the market.

Real Madrid enjoy a glorious football heritage and their tinge is undellible from the history of football. People keep talking about the Club as having profited from Franco's regime, but do not forget that Barça at that time won several trophies and reached semis in the CL. As a Moroccan Madridista I envite you to come to any Moroccan city during Real Madrid and Barcelona games, you will notice how peaple love their favorite club without falling in the trap of blind jalousy as it is the case in this forum. Real Madrid has won every single tilte in this world. So it is.
Csaba D nice 1 mate
people who say Real Madrid are destroying football, have got sour graper written all over their faces. If the same thing happened to the club you support you guys would be over the moon. I just cant wait to see Real madrid in action next season.
Elnino, just sod off, 'everyone knows' etc, lol. everyone knows that Real Madrid are a more attractive club than your petty little Barcelona. Ronaldinho kept Barca waiting for weeks cause he was waiting for an offer from Madrid, Figo left when he was asked, etc etc.
elnino, you are soooooo imaginative......... O_o
Please, write a book about all information you have, about the little dictador Franco with such a power in Europe........XDDDDDD
real madrid will not be able to win anything this season....players need time to gel 2gether....and mybe next seasons they will be SUPERB!!!
@#$% lah kaka, spoile is life in real. if he enter man c good future. real madrid really @#$% . madrid suck !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Spanish government helps them????????????????????
HHAHAHAAHAHA
Zapatero is a Barça`s fan. XDD
Corrupt spanish banks???
Maybe corrupt English banks, because the credit is from the islands. ;)
Everyone knows that at least 3 of Real Madrid's Europe cups were bought with the facist plunder of that murderer Franco. Corruption and fear were always on offer in the Santiago Bernabeu, so few officials resisted. Be ashamed facist Madrid pigs your history is a lie.
@comment 23 : You club is corrupt and half of its European Cups were won under Franco's regime. So they should not count in the last 20 years you have two Europeans Cups like us FACT.
they need a left back and a centre back. I dont think either Diarra is good enough and neither is gago so a solid sitting defensive minded midfielder could also maybe be bought. although Albiol is a really good CB Im still not sure about Pepe, plus they also need backup as well so it would make sense to sign another. Lucio would be a great signing for them, as he wants to leave bayern. Cant think of any left backs they could sign...
Ive read about the a.cole situation but I really really hope this aint true. He is the best in that position and he's English so if chelsea lose him it will be impossible to replace him. yes zhirkov, but Im hoping he will be more of an attacker. plus againwe would be left with no backup in that position.
Real Marid=General Franco Club i.e FULL OF SH--TE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ill just put it like this 10th champions league title & 32nd la liga title & than everyone can say that we bought it........A REAL FAN
I still think Barcelona will beat them.
bhskeldon your exactly right all these people on here are just real madrid hatters plus their angry that all the best players in the world wanna join madrid and not their crappy teams
James D again talking about franco just get over yourself and stop hatting on madrid and spain you chat so much @#$%
REAL MADRID IS THE BIGGEST JOKE IN FOOTBALL,THEY WONT WIN ANYTHING WITH ALL THE SELFISH PLAYERS IN THEIR TEAM.
Real Mercenaries, not Real Madrid, folks.
#18, great to hear a loyal RM fan. Later, when things don´t go well, these great players are later called MERCENARIES. You get players for obscene amount of money and expect them to make allegiance to the club and not for money, ironic, isn´t it? Did they come for the money or for the club? Would CR come for less?
Dave,
Spot on. Franco's army gets government favours. That is why Real are a blight on the modern game - they reek of corruption and fascism.
