England and Pakistan drew 1-1 in the final match of the three-Test hockey series in Cannock.
Reading's Iain Mackay (pictured) put England ahead with his first senior international goal but Syed Abbas Haider equalised in the 45th minute.
England had already lost the series, part of coach Jason Lee's tune-up for next month's European Championship in the Netherlands.
"Ironically, although it was our best result, I think it was our poorest play out of all three matches," he said.
"We've trained very hard this week and I think our tiredness showed out there, but the only games that matter to us this summer will be at the Europeans."
England will take on European champions Holland in just over two weeks before hosting India for a three-match series in Birmingham.
