Scottish Premier League - Boruc: Personal problems got to me

Eurosport - Sat, 04 Jul 14:02:00 2009

Celtic goalkeeper Artur Boruc has admitted his personal life affected his performances last season.

But he insists he is not out of form - just that all his mistakes went punished. Boruc made a number of high-profile errors, most famously when he mis-kicked a pass-back and allowed Northern Ireland to claim a 3-2 win over Poland, while he has also found himself in trouble for breaching disciplinary rules for club and country, following the break-up of his marriage.

"I don't accept all this talk that I'm in bad form," the 29-year-old said. "Last season I made five serious mistakes in games for Poland and Celtic, which is roughly the same as I did the year before."

He added: "But no one said it was my fault then, because those errors went unpunished. A lot comes down to luck - and sometimes your luck runs out."

Boruc was targeted by the Northern Ireland fans at Windsor Park but claims the abuse had nothing to do with him conceding two poor goals.

"My form in the match in Belfast when Poland lost 3-2 to Northern Ireland and the earlier game in Bratislava, when we lost 2-1 to Slovakia, was related to my personal situation," he told the Polish press.

"In Belfast, I wasn't scared of the Northern Ireland fans' taunting.

"I like pressure; I like when the fans are screaming at me.

"The influence on my performances in the Slovakia and Northern Ireland games was not fans, but my personal situation.

"Never mind if you are a worker in a factory or you are a goalkeeper playing in front of thousands of people every week - if you have personal problems it will affect you at work, no matter what you do."

  13. Guys - glad to see you were all having fun without me! Sherbet, all these questions about vat returns, etc.. CLASSIC!!

Paul G: How many times a year do you have to declare import duty/vat on memory cards, and what is the minimum number you must declare to HMRC?.. Which areas are identified as "target flights" by HMRC? Where does HMRC conduct checks on imports to the UK via EMS Chronopost? How much oilet paper will you require when a letter drops through your door, marked HMRC Tax Evasion Unit? How quickly can you control your bowels after receiving such a letter?

Stuart - if you feed him any clues, I'll boot yer bahookie!! LOL!!

  17. Sherbet, here is some fact for ye, after you read this you will see you dont have a clue what your talking about.
Unless you are filing your company's first accounts (see question 5) the time normally allowed for delivering accounts to Companies House is:

    * for a private company, 10 months from the ARD; or
    * for a public company, 7 months from the ARD.

However, if the accounting reference period has been shortened, the time allowed for filing the accounts is the longer of:

    * for a private company 10 months (or for a public company 7 months) from the ARD; or
    * 3 months from the date of the notice (Form 225).

So this proves that i am right AGAIN. So no more work talk please and just football as you have just been made out to look like a right p.r.i.c.k. AGAIN.
