Venus and Serena Williams put their clash in the singles final behind them to win the women's doubles title in emphatic style.
As the sun dipped down behind Centre Court's roof, Serena and Venus teamed up to win their fourth Wimbledon women's doubles title, defeating Samantha Stosur and Rennae Stubbs of Australia 7-6 6-4.
It was consolation of sorts for Venus, who had lost the women's singles final to her sister earlier in the day.
Serena beat her older sibling 7-6 6-2 to deny her a hat-trick of Wimbledon singles titles, while at the same time claiming a third Sw19 crown of her own.
Venus has now lost six of the eight grand slam singles finals she has played against Serena, three of them at Wimbledon.

It's no contest with these two when they are totally concetrating on Tennis, and not on Shopping but I understand its no contest in the Shop's as well, so I suppose it's Game ,Set ,and Match, to Serena and Venus.
Mike Maye.
Hey Gerald, Brenda Schultz as well as half a dozen players in Graf's era were clocking serves in excess of 120mph on the WTA tour and that was not with the power rackets of today. Look up Steffi's record against the current players, I think you will be surprised to find out, no disrespect intended, how wrong you are.
Steffi Graf did play both Serena and Venus Williams. Most of the matches coming after Graf had her reconstructive knee surgery, and Guess What. Graf head to head with Venus is 3 to 2 in Graf's favor. Steffi played Serena three times, but one of the matches was a tournament exhibition which is held before the Aussie Open, and not a tour event, so her head to head with Serena is officially one to one, though unofficially it is 2-1 Graf's favor.
(Comment 4) Good one! Even when they smile they don't look that much prettier!!
sisters are just bulging muscles for bulldozer power play
No subtle tennis skills in sight ~~~~ should have signed up for Volleyball ~~ or basketball etc
or maybe sign up to volunteer for duty in Afghanistan to helpout US duty troops service
centre court players seating box & ROYAL BOX were both sensibly deserted very earlly
for womens doubles final
Steffi Graf against either Venus or Serena? Steffi would not be able to run around her backhand fast enough to beat either of the sisters. She never had to play against players with their powerful serves or ground strokes.
Dinara Safina, get real, what was the score against venus 6-1 6-0. The Williams sisters are big game players, hence the multitude of slams they have between them.
I would have loved to see either of the Williams sisters play against Steffi Graff in her prime. The winner would be too close to call. Perhaps they could do an exhibition match?
These 2 ladies have DOMINATED women's tennis. Credit where credit is due. Unfortunately, the media tends to glorify Jamaican scum like Rhianna and gangster rappers like Jay-Z etc. We should have more positive and inspirational role-models for our children, like the Venus sisters.
DINARA SAFINA IS THE BEST PLAYER OF ALL TIME . AS EVERYONE CAN SEE SHE DON'T NEED TO WIN A SLAM TO BECOME NO.1 .THAT'S PHENOMANENAL.
Who´s this chelseabeth for Christs sake?? cant u appreciate good things for once and admit to the fact that this girls were just too good for their opponents.CONGRATULATIONS GIRLS....this is the result of hard work......the same kind of hard work that Roger Federer passes through as well.... What more could I say: Congratulations from the bottom of my heart! It has been a very, very impressive singles and doubles tournament for the both of you!
Congratulations! How remarkable that you two have shown the rest of us what hard work, civilized behavior, development of physical, emotional, and intellectual gifts can accomplish when all those disciplines are supported by unrelenting determination. You are indeed role models for us and generations to come.
