High hopes for trialists - Knill

Manager Alan Knill hopes that the trialists joining his Bury side for pre-season training on Monday are impressive enough to be offered permanent deals at Gigg Lane.

However, the Shakers' boss is adamant that he is no rush to unnecessarily add to his side and is merely looking for two or three players to boost competition.

Several players will get the opportunity to showcase their talents as Knill also looks to sign a player on loan from a higher division.

"We have a group of coming in and we hope we can find something within them and the good thing, however, is that we are in no rush," he told the Bury Times.

"If the season started tomorrow we would have a team and that means we won't be panicked into signing anyone.

"We are looking at bringing in a loan player for six or 12 months, but it's important that they are the right type of player."
