Illness worry for Jackson

Sat 04 Jul, 01:53 PM

St Johnstone striker Andy Jackson is awaiting test results after again being taken to hospital due to illness.

The 21-year-old spent Thursday night in hospital with what the club say was a suspected recurrence of the illness he first suffered in April 2008.

That bowel complaint hindered his fitness levels last season, when he failed to find the net in a disrupted campaign after scoring 18 times the previous season.

But Jackson, who has just recovered from a serious Achilles injury, is back on his feet and is due to travel to Warwick with his team-mates for St Johnstone`s training camp next week.

Meanwhile, former Hibernian and Portsmouth forward Kevin Harper has been training with Saints but only at the player's request.
