British and Irish Lions lock Simon Shaw has been cited for alleged dangerous play during the third Test against South Africa in Johannesburg.
England forward Shaw has been summoned to attend a disciplinary hearing on Sunday morning.
He must answer a charge of striking with the knee on Springboks scrum-half Fourie du Preez during the Lions' 28-9 victory.
Shaw was sin-binned for the offence, but New Zealand citing officer Steve Hinds has decided the incident warrants closer scrutiny.
Shaw is the second Lions player to be cited on their 10-match South Africa tour, following Scotland forward Nathan Hines who received a one-week ban for a dangerous tackle during the 13-13 draw against the Emerging Springboks in Cape Town 11 days ago.
If found guilty, Wasps lock Shaw could miss the opening games of next season's Guinness Premiership campaign.

Yeah. If you had kicked the hell out of more 'off' the Lions you might have won this one too.
I dont think it deserved a sin bin but over all ref was good if we had refs half as good from day one all players and i mean all would know where they stand sorry but the ref was right
This is a reaction to the botha citing/non-citing issue. It was a bin offence but not a citing. I'm sure all hell will break loose if he gets off!!
You are right Scott, he is probably the best lock in the world.
Think the citing is fair given the recent past and probably a 2 week ban as a result; but isn't the citing going a bit too far at the moment.. Rugby needs cleaning up but I think it is the Refs that need to take firmer action and in this case he did so. In fact I'd go as far as suggesting he was the best of the three
oh no we dont want to cite him hes british better than the rest of the world wished we had kicked the hell out of more off the lions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
