This morning we discussed how to manage the stage at the team briefing, and my director asked me to go in the break so I started from the very beginning; I did not want to wait at all. It was hard to imagine winning the stage, but we still tried. You never know what can happen in a bike race. There was an uncertainty about the weather, and a bit of rain could have disrupted the proceedings. And a split in the bunch could also change the game. Still, if you arrive at the finish with a group of three or in a small group I know that my burst of speed can make a difference in the sprint. But I'm not a natural sprinter, so I'm very unlikely to get out in a bunch sprint, with riders like Cavendish or Greipel.
