First-team coach Steve Holland has revealed that midfielder James Bailey will make his debut when Crewe begin their campaign against Brighton.Bailey, 19, has impressed during pre-season and will be in Holland's starting XI on Saturday due to injuries to Jake Livermore and Steven Schumacher.
"I am pleased with the two centre midfield players, Michael O'Connor and James Bailey. Especially James Bailey and where he has come from this summer," Holland told the club's official website.
"At the moment James is in possession of the shirt and he has deserved to keep his place after what he has shown against Preston and Hull.
"He kept his place, he doesn't deserve to lose it. He has done well for us over pre-season and it would be unfair to move James at this moment."
