Manchester City star Valeri Bojinov has revealed his delight after scoring on his return to action in the club's weekend draw with Stockport.The striker had been on the sidelines for almost a year but is hoping his return to the field will enable him to kickstart his City career.

"It was good and for me it's very important because this is my first game with the first team for almost one year. I'm very happy." Bojinov told City's official website.

"It was a very hard and very strong game against Stockport. They were a good team and wanted to prove themselves because not every day do they play against City or Liverpool [as they did the week before].

"So for them it was important and it was a good game, but it was crucial for me to play and to score."
