Real Madrid lost 1-0 to Arsenal in the pre-season Emirates Cup tournament but their biggest worry was an injury to midfielder Wesley Sneijder.
Dutch playmaker Sneijder left the field on a stretcher after an hour following a heavy challenge by Arsenal midfielder Abou Diaby. Sneijder had his head in his hands as he was carried off with what looked like a knee injury.
Arsenal won the match with a 49th-minute penalty by Emmanuel Adebayor after Michel Salgado had fouled Robin van Persie.
Earlier, Hamburg defeated Juventus 3-0, a victory that secured them first place in the four-team tournament.
Peru striker Jose Guerrero opened the scoring from close range after 19 minutes before Croatia forward Ivica Olic gave the scoreline an emphatic sheen with two goals in injury time.
Chelsea cruised to an embarrassingly one-sided 5-0 victory over a depleted Milan side in Moscow.
Four goals from a razor-sharp Nicolas Anelka were more than enough to settle the third-place play-off in the Railways Cup pre-season tournament after Frank Lampard opened the scoring.
Milan's Brazilian star Kaka - linked with a move to Chelsea this summer - did not feature as his team put in a miserable display, typified by some comically inept goalkeeping by Zeljko Kalac.
A strong Chelsea line-up saw Michael Ballack make his first appearance of the Blues' pre-season following his late return to the squad after Euro 2008 duty with Germany.
Lampard put his side ahead inside two minutes when his curling free-kick eluded everyone before flying through Kalac's legs.
Anelka fired home from the edge of the box to make it 2-0 on eight minutes, and 10 minutes later the Frenchman made it three when Kalac took a swipe at a back pass and missed, allowing Anelka to tuck the ball into the empty net.
Anelka sealed his hat-trick six minutes after half-time when he nodded home Florent Malouda's left-wing cross and the same combination then brought Anelka a fourth and Chelsea a fifth on a sorry afternoon for the Rossoneri.
Darren Bent's impressive pre-season form continued as he helped Tottenham beat Borussia Dortmund 3-0 to win the Feyenoord Jubileum Tournament at the De Kuip stadium in Rotterdam.
The 24-year-old striker broke the deadlock in the ninth minute with the first real chance of the game after Jermaine Jenas had dribbled past three defenders.
Former Charlton frontman Bent collected the ball in the penalty area and turned before drilling a low shot past Dortmund goalkeeper Marc Ziegler to claim his 10th goal in five pre-season matches.
Jenas was also involved in the second goal in the 55th minute when he broke from midfield and slid a through-ball for Brazilian Giovani who dinked the ball into the bottom-left corner of the net.
Tottenham scored their third goal with four minutes remaining after a swift counter-attack led by right-back Adam Smith.
The 17-year-old defender broke down the right flank and delivered a low cross for Jamie O'Hara who slotted the ball home from close range.
Klaas Jan Huntelaar's second-half strike proved the difference between the sides as Ajax continued their pre-season preparations with a 1-0 win at Sunderland.
The Holland forward, linked with a move to England over the summer, fired home the game's only goal nine minutes into the second period after two good saves from Scotland goalkeeper Craig Gordon.
Roy Keane's side will consider themselves unlucky to have lost after bossing possession, particularly in the latter stages, but the closest they came to a goal was a first-half Daryl Murphy effort which struck the outside of the post.
Newcastle were beaten for a second time in the Mallorca Cup as they went down 1-0 to host side Real Mallorca at the Ono Estadi.
Mario Suarez scored the only goal of the game after just seven minutes when he glanced home a testing free-kick from the left.
The Magpies produced a competitive performance but it was the La Liga side that went closest to another goal when Juan Arango's free-kick shaved the bar.
Leon Osman struck a winner three minutes from time as Everton continued their US tour with a 2-1 victory over Colorado Rapids.
Everton had started brightly in Commerce City with Mikel Arteta firing them in front after just six minutes but Conor Casey equalised early in the second half.
It was left to Osman, making his first start of the pre-season, to earn David Moyes's men the victory late on.

i believe arsene wenger will get it right this season ,the team look great up the gunners, what out for a young man called jack welshare hope i got the spelling correct
Some people are as limited in their vocabulary as they seem to be in their football knowledge. Can't argue with a sick mind
jude surf i'm guessing u r a glory hunting @#$%
Good call again harry. It appears that seanmac001 is another narrow minded so called football fan. Clueless!
I agree, Benitez could learn a few things off Wenger
Seanmac, I sympathise with how you could get confused, but I stated 'we' as in England as a whole. Yes you could get confused, but I am very proud of our double last season although the point I was making is that some fools slag off a club we (as in Man Utd) are trying to catch up in terms of their past achievements. Thats all mate.
And ny the way, LIVERPOOL fans have to think back a generation when they were the most successful in english football, they have been 4th best for 20 years and will not progress any further under Jaffa { ill save my best players for europe}Benitez
HARRY ,firstly states that he isnt a liverpool fan but a united 1,if you read carefully his statement afterwards its obvious that he is a LIVERPOOL fan as he ends it with stating after talking about the success of liverpool that WE { as in liverpool} are are a strong top 4 team, if he was a united fan he would have said that WE {as in united} are the champions of england and europe not a top 4 side, LMAO what an idiot
Good call Harry!
I am a Man U fan born and bred, but I have respect for ALL Football teams. Liverpool is THE MOST SUCCESSFUL CLUB IN ENGLAND EVER with 18 titles as well as 5 european cups, so those of you trying to slag off Liverpool are simply deluded and don't know much about football and its' history in England (and are'nt worth p***ing on if you are on fire).
At the moment we have a very strong top four which are providing some great football and I for one love it.
krisekardiak, just let the football do all the talking!
krisekardiak what a bell end! Whats with all the idiotic text language? Is it that difficult to type 'that' rather than 'dat'? If this is the way that kids are starting to speak or write in this country then the english language has big problems in the future!
By the way, Reina won the Golden Glove AGAIN last season so he can't be that bad. Think before you post anything again on this page idiot!
I am not fooled by Ballacks appearance in a blue shirt in a non event in Moscow he will be eating jellied eels at Upton Park this Christmas :-)
so much bitterness....where is the love?
The damage has already been done, drogba stop dreaming of going to milan or inter milan.be with chesea the only best team in premier league and europe.chesea oyeeeeeeeeee
chelsea for life.look at what they did to milan.
soccer continue(ALUTA CONTINUA)
LOVE Arsenal no matter what:)
Post 85.
The La Liga was pretty easy to win.
All of Real Madrid rivals were out of form. Barcelona,Valencia and Sevilla.
So it was pretty easy.
Also the La Liga was pretty rubbish this season compared to the Premier League.
You say they are Champions LEague regulars, well they have been knocked out four seasons in a row at the LAst 16. That is comparible to Celtic who have finished twice in the lAst 16.
It is easier to win the La Liga, then the Champions LEague.
But IT IS EASIER to win the Champions League then the Premier League.
An unnecessary foul. What a waste.
