The Metropolitan Police are set to arrest more than 20 men suspected of involvement in the violent scenes that marred Millwall's FA Cup trip to Hull in January.

Humberside Police identified 24 Millwall followers in connection with the incidents which saw seats ripped out of the away end at the KC Stadium, while catering and toilet facilities were also damaged during the game, which Hull won 2-0.

The investigation has been aided by the release of photos of 32 Millwall fans on the Crimestoppers website in July.

If any of the men in question are charged, they will be bailed to appear at a court in Hull.

Chief Inspector Darren Downs of Humberside Police told the Yorkshire Post: "People who know these men well, for example their parents and brothers and friends, have been ringing us to tell us who they are.

"We will process them all, they are going to be arrested and dealt with and hopefully charged to court."
