Euro 2012 qual. - Ratings: Rampant Rooney
We give out ratings of England’s performances in their 4-0 Euro 2012 qualifying win over Bulgaria.
Joe Hart: Was solid and dominated his area, and when called upon to make saves did so in some style - his stop from Dimitar Rangelov was outstanding. (8)
Glen Johnson: As usual was plenty of fun going forward but occasionally exposed at the back. Almost scored a freakish own goal, stopped by Hart. (6)
Michael Dawson: Had a decent game before having the worst 60 seconds of his career - almost caused a goal for Bulgaria with a missed header, then suffered a bad injury. (6)
Phil Jagielka: A solid performance on his first competitive start for England, the Everton defender was sharp in the tackle and showed good positional sense and a turn of pace. John who? (7)
Ashley Cole: Laid on Defoe's opener and as usual provided an attacking threat from left-back all night, although that was at times to the detriment of his defensive duties.(7)
Steven Gerrard: Given more freedom thanks to Frank Lampard’s absence, made some surging runs and showed a good range of passing. Went close with a free-kick, had another effort saved. (7)
Gareth Barry: A key culprit in England’s 4-1 defeat to Germany, he showed an excellent range of passing and covered Gerrard and Walcott well. Not the quickest, but not relevant when sitting. (7)
Theo Walcott: Given a chance after some superb club form, he made some decent runs but seemed less suited to a wide midfield role than playing up front. (6)
James Milner: Boundless energy on the left and a constant thorn in the Bulgaria defence’s side - so much so that he got right-back Stanislav Manolev substituted. (7)
Jermain Defoe: A perfect performance from a man initially expected to miss out due to groin surgery. A brilliant hat-trick, including two with his left. Full marks. (10)
Wayne Rooney: Normally he would have got man of the match for three assists, some deft touches and appearing to be everywhere at once. A return to form. (9)
Substitutes:
Gary Cahill: Came on for Dawson, had little to do but almost let Bulgaria in with a wild clearance - again Hart was on hand to save the day. (6)
Adam Johnson: A surprise omission, Johnson came on and showed great skill and direct running, capping it off with a goal. (8)
Ashley Young: A late replacement for the injured Defoe, not enough time to make an impact. (6)

now we know why he was crap in south africa ,fab wouldnt let him have an escort.
Whats the betting the hooker made him put a bag over his head.
Rooney , Well he must be another English success story due to the hammering he's getting on here. I really couldn't give a toss what he's doing behind closed doors as long as he's playing well , and as for role models to kids, responsibility lies with parents more than with some dull scouse footballing genious! I'm off to the beach suckers!!!
He paid a thousand pounds a time which isn't a lot considering the several thousands he paid for Colleen's 'ring'.
He always seems to score away from home, usually in seedy hotels.
If he loses any sponsorship deals he should try to earn a few bob entering the ugliest woman competition, It's a cert he will do well
Rampant Rooney is right!!!
I thought Rooney was the man of the match. Well done defoe keep it up.
Hey Ronnie don't lie...
Quote " after checking outside I am glad to say that in our respectable area of Kensington all our car wheels are still intact"
There is NO way you managed to park outside your own house LOL!
As for people robbing wheels in Kensington, i have to agree that it never happens.
This is only due to having nowhere to park the getta-way car !!!!!!!!!
FFS hillsbourough?? What makes you think i'm a scummy scouser?. I happen to be a CHELSEA supporter thou and after checking outside I am glad to say that in our respectable area of Kensington all our car wheels are still intact. Now theres a sight you dont see very often.
Rooney and Terry...brothers in arms?
No brothers in somebody elses arms LOL!!!!!!!
I hope berbaflop is good all season, as manure are really going to need him...
Rooney has been in rampant form......brothel. casino, where not......such lovely form...now time for Rooney to face what Terry did last year.....bloody scumbag!
Theres a lot of anger out there. Why not go into the bathroom, lock the door, and get some more personal gratification rather than spending your valuable time online :)
The headline is "Rampant Rooney"? When Defoe's the one with the perfect 10 and the hat-trick?
It will be interesting to see how the newspapers ROSE TINTED GLASSES opinion of rooney will be now that he's exposed as a lying, cheating scumbag. doesnt surprise me thou cos I never believed all that cra pp ferguson was sprouting about why he played shi te at the world cup. Missing the baby? yeah pull the other one! only the manc fans would believe such bull.
just read about rooney and that hooker so he cheated on his wife with that hooker when his wife was pregnant after already being forgiven by her for doing the same thing iin a brothel with the old slapper what sort of scumbag would treat their wife like that ? he deserves everything thats coming to him man utd should sack him and set a moral example to the rest just like they did with tommy docherty.
1st woz it my eyes or woz england wearing another new kit??????????????????, reports say rooney's back 2 top form!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! capello if reports r 2 b believed gave rooney licence 2 roam with others filling rooney position as 2nd striker, is this rooney's new position in the team cause he can't score??????? if so rooney done a better job of sortin midfield out then tht clown barry................................. if it hadn't been 4 hart & bad finishin england wud have bin in real trouble........................ as soon as england went 1.0 up england were sloopy, slowed the game rite down let bulgaria bac in the game, it woz a good job it woz bulgaria & not a spain/germany/argentina/ brazil etc cause we wud hav been ripped apart. Rooney 4 me, still doesn't warrant all the headlines, I aint seen 1 main headline bout harts great performance in goal.
can anyone tell me what a real women feels like? i just sit in here all day while mi mams away at bingo all night and mi dad sits outside netto all day drinking white lightning cider

Typical English racism....The editor opted to put Rooney in the headline, even though it is Defoe who got the hattrick and the highest rate....shame...you'll never win a World Cup...just like Ian Right and Andy Cole !
A good performance. Still some problems in putting together a solid defense.
Michah Richards is a Far Superior attacking Right Back than Glen Johsone and mak'e and Score's Goal's.He
can also cover as a Cental Defender. He's the only good player who came out of Steve McClaren's reign and who could forget him then? Only Capello.
