We take our weekly look at the star performers in the Championship, with Alan Smith enjoying a good day at the office.
Crystal Palace's 4-1 win against Blackpool was overshadowed by complaints about a disallowed Alex Baptiste goal. What is certain is the game would have been much closer if not for Palace keeper Julian Speroni.
Barnsley's Ryan Shotton has settled well at the club. He missed a late chance against Ipswich, but we forgive him as Jon Macken scored a 95th-minute winner for the Tykes. He is joined in defence by Swansea's Garry Monk, Stephen Wright of Coventry and Derby left-back Jay McEveley.
Richard Cresswell spared Sheffield United's blushes with an equaliser against Doncaster, while Chris Cohen, Alan Smith and Chris Burke proved a midfield spark for Nottingham Forest, Newcastle United and Cardiff City respectively.
The ageless Paul Dickov was superb in Derby's 3-0 win against Sheffield Wednesday, doing everything but scoring, while Ian Hume scored Barnsley's opener in their dramatic win against Ipswich.
