Ben Spies' Yamaha YZF-M1 revealed

Wed, 04 Nov 15:20:15 2009

The bike Ben Spies will ride at the 2009 MotoGP season finale in Valencia has been revealed ahead of his debut with Yamaha.

The new World Superbike champion will ride the M1 for the first time this weekend, but his mount will at least bear more than a passing resemblance to the Yamaha R1 he took to WSBK glory last month.

Bearing sponsorship from Sterilgarda – who will act as title backer for Yamaha WSB in 2010 -, Spies will join Valentino Rossi, Jorge Lorenzo, James Toseland and future team-mate Colin Edwards in pedalling an M1 at Valencia.

He will join Tech 3 Yamaha for the first time during post-season testing next week.

  1. Spies has a real chance to make an impact, he is on the best bike with a new engine. However I think he will be top ten, the fab four are in a different league to anyone else on the planet....and we all know who im talking about.

  2. Ben will be fast for sure, esp if he has his crew, Edwards will help him guaranteed :) I reckon Ben will easily be top 10, be great to see him shake it up even further up the order, James will be his usual 15th.
British riders just dont cut it at the elite level :)
