SPL - Bougherra committed to Rangers

Rangers have received a shot in the arm with the news Madjid Bougherra has pledged his future to the club.

The SPL champions are mired in financial difficulties, with the club said to owe in the region of £30 million and their bankers believed to be keen to offload players.

Classy defender Bougherra is one of Rangers' most saleable assets and has been linked with a move away from Ibrox in January, but he is keen to remain in Scotland.

"I have not changed my intentions from last season. I will definitely stay in Glasgow and finish the season at the club," Bougherra, who is currently sidelined with a knee problem, told the Daily Record.

"I love life at Rangers and I'm sure they will find an investor and things will work out.

"I feel great in Glasgow and I need stability because that is one of the keys to success and progress, especially on the eve of the African Nations Cup and a World Cup."
