Ashley focused only on promotion - Llambias

Newcastle owner Mike Ashley's only focus is to get the club back into the Barclays Premier League.

Managing director Derek Llambias has insisted the under-fire owner will back new manager Chris Hughton as far as he can as he continues his mission to win promotion from the Cola-Cola Championship at the first attempt.

Llambias told Sky Sports News: "We are here. We had to draw the line ourselves by taking it off the market. Mike has decided, 'That's it, I'm staying, I want to put some more money into it and let's get it promoted'."

He added: "He is desperate to get it promoted, that's his focus."

    STAY AT YOUR­ SEATS AT THE­ BEGINNING OF THE GAME AND AT HALF TIME,­ AT EVERY HOME­ GAME, UNTIL HE EITHER STARTS TO SHOW US­ SOME RESPECT (­ NEVER ), OR UNTIL HE LEAVES.

  2. i think he is hoping everyone will say...thankyou for­ getting us back in the prem...
    but he is so stupid that­ he cant see he is doing anything wrong...
    but what we­ cant do is take away the support for the TEAM...the­ real fans are incensed by this buffoon, but to say­ boycott the matches will do nothing but harm to the­ moral of OUR FOOTBALL TEAM.
    And when the club is­ sold...the naming rights will go away.

  7. I dont have ashley as my favourite person. he came to­ newcastle wanting to be a celebrity and a big man. The­ recession and time has wised (sorry) him up. If he has­ learned from that experience then he may bring us all­ round to tolerate him.....in the future.
    But lets get­ real. Newcastle fans were offered the chance to get­ part of the club early days with the Halls. The­ response was pathetic. 99.9 % of suporters would pay­ for a season ticket but not for shares or lend the club­ money. I know i didnt so i am one of the 99.9%. but we­ are only too happy for those outside the area to throw­ their money in without always the chance to get it­ back. There is a credit crunch going on. The economy is­ shot and the govt ( ie us) is broke.
    So we have got­ the owner we have . Nobody else wants the club. Nobody­ else wants us.
    There is a supporters club that wants­ to buy shares. If you are really serious then put your­ money where your mouth is and help to buy the club.­ Otherwise........

  8. Focused on promotion yeah he maybe but lets be honest­ its for 1 reason and 1 reason alone the club in the­ Premiership is worth a lot more on paper than where we­ are now.

    The rumoured £20m for player investment I­ have no doubt that that money will come from the­ renaming of the ground yet another faus pax by the fat­ bloater.

    This bloke is stripping the club for all he­ can so he wins either way short of us getting relegated­ again the sooner he drags his fat @#$% out of the club­ the better.

    fatty couldn't care less­ about promotion, otherwise he would've given­ Hughton some money. Mark my words, come January, he­ will show yet another profit in transfer dealings; i­ fear the loss of Enrique, Taylor AND Harper.
