Huddersfield striker Lee Novak faces an uphill race to be fit for Friday's first round FA Cup clash with Dagenham & Redbridge at the Galpharm Stadium.
The 21-year-old was forced off during the second half of Town's 1-0 win at Oldham on Sunday due to a shoulder injury and is waiting for the results of a scan.
Novak, signed for an undisclosed fee by manager Lee Clark from Gateshead in January, has started in the Terriers' last four matches alongside leading goalscorer Jordan Rhodes.
Manager Clark is already without fellow striker Robbie Simpson, recovering from a torn thigh muscle, but has Theo Robinson on stand-by.
