Lewis Hamilton is set to visit 10 Downing Street to help Prime Minister Gordon Brown with a road accident campaign.
After winning the Formula One world championship, Hamilton said he wanted to "put something back" into Britain and Brown is planning to take up the offer.
The Prime Minster reportedly wants the McLaren driver to lead a road accident campaign aimed at teenage drivers, as well as helping to promote sport to the young.
Despite recent criticism for becoming a tax exile in Switzerland, Hamilton hasn also been named on a Government list of 20 Afro-Caribbean men who can serve as role models for black teenagers.
Communities Secretary Hazel Blears said at the launch of the list: "The election of Barack Obama and Lewis Hamilton's recent success is a powerful signal to young people that they can achieve.
"But for many they will still be the men on the telly, removed from their day-to-day lives, whose achievements exist in a world beyond theirs.
"The role modelling programme was about finding a way of making a more relevant connection; nurturing ambitious, realistic aspirations by showing young black men that they can achieve in any and every walk of life they can imagine.
"That is why I am delighted by the calibre and diversity of the role models that have put themselves forward. Each of these men has faced challenges and barriers, but through skill, determination and hard work they have succeeded.
"Now they have a chance to tell their stories and show that success and recognition are there for the taking - if only young people reach for them."

Whats all this @#$% about Lewis being a tax exile. We all know the reason he left.simply because of the damn media who make and destroy people.Have they forgotten how much he earns, not sure if he would be worried about tax.

Mouron let us down over the Honda story or did I miss his post. He'll say that his known for weeks but couldn't tell us for national security reasons.
Foottie was really good - Villa lost 2-1 but with a very young team on the pitch and the result didn't mean anything cos' they are going through anyway.
Glad to hear that the MGA is safely away for the winter, hate to think of it out in this weather. The Standard is still having its seatbelts fitted, I think my local mechanic is regretting saying he could do it! The Maserati is a bit skittish in the snow and slush but still great fun.
MGA - I didn't think you would post it either. I said I wouldn't in case others asked me for it.
Don't tell me the MGA is back out of it's winter storage.
Quote : There's also a person from the UK who uses touronroute as their email address.

That's our touronroute, I have his address but etiquette says I mustn't post it here. I know it's the same person as it was linked to some postings on another forum about a year ago and as we know his spelling and grammar are totally unique. Oh, as well as the obvious blindness to facts.
We seem to be losing an awful lot of posts here tonight. I think someone is playing with the report button.
Continued - Unfortunately he never quite gets the wording right. When he said "the Renault team" he should have said "some of Renaults publicity people".
I have no doubt that touronroute lives near Silverstone and so knows that Renault do have an annual supper for the media at the Vine House before the British Grand Prix. It is often mentioned in the local press and being a media event there would be a car there I'm sure.
I think if you achieve the goal of getting Touron to ignore you, then you have won!
Hurrah.
I own you Touron, lol.
MGA. some members of the renault team stay there every year with out fail, all the villagers go up there every year when they go as they bring a racing car and people take pics and chat to the team.
I'll answer for you Touron.
You changed "Independent of Mercedes" to "working with Mercedes" because you thought no one would find out. You are sorry, but not sorry for lying, you are sorry that you got caught.
.
Glock, there is no investigation planned. You lied because you dislike Hamilton and wanted to upset his supporters and win praise from Ferrari fans.
As it turned out, no one believed you and we all saw you for the halfwit you are.
.
Are those the answers you were thinking of giving?
Any answers for me Touron?
I feel a headache coming on !!!!
MGA. only got two mate, my daughter lives in one at fairfield rd no 15, i'm allways invited to the vinehouse if i want to go, its where the renault team stay, i live in silverstone now.
