Lewis Hamilton is set to visit 10 Downing Street to help Prime Minister Gordon Brown with a road accident campaign.
After winning the Formula One world championship, Hamilton said he wanted to "put something back" into Britain and Brown is planning to take up the offer.
The Prime Minster reportedly wants the McLaren driver to lead a road accident campaign aimed at teenage drivers, as well as helping to promote sport to the young.
Despite recent criticism for becoming a tax exile in Switzerland, Hamilton hasn also been named on a Government list of 20 Afro-Caribbean men who can serve as role models for black teenagers.
Communities Secretary Hazel Blears said at the launch of the list: "The election of Barack Obama and Lewis Hamilton's recent success is a powerful signal to young people that they can achieve.
"But for many they will still be the men on the telly, removed from their day-to-day lives, whose achievements exist in a world beyond theirs.
"The role modelling programme was about finding a way of making a more relevant connection; nurturing ambitious, realistic aspirations by showing young black men that they can achieve in any and every walk of life they can imagine.
"That is why I am delighted by the calibre and diversity of the role models that have put themselves forward. Each of these men has faced challenges and barriers, but through skill, determination and hard work they have succeeded.
"Now they have a chance to tell their stories and show that success and recognition are there for the taking - if only young people reach for them."

I'm gonna go and watch the footie. It's only Aston Villa but I am a Millwall supporter so what do I know (or no for mouron) about football?
My god mouron's on about lord hesketh and daimler group.
Little companies pay less tax - he's on drugs.
He travelled to brixworth by boat and the only water nearby is a reservoir.
Scottish C: He'll deny it tomorrow.
mga: went to pitstop and it does look like a genuine rumour.
What about an explanation for copying and pasting the Ilmor info but then changing "Independent of Mercedes" to "working with Mercedes" to fit your argument?
And what about this Glock investigation?
I demand answers god damn it!
hjlio oi all i am suggesting is you are a tit cant u write something different.
Is this Honda thing just malicious gossip or a genuine rumour?
GINGER-GITT /you are quite right, but the whole lot is owned by the daimler group, little company's pay less tax,i actually travelled to brixworth to the ilmor side of things, with a boat which belonged to lord hesketh .
MGRV, I asked him whether he was in the village or the circuit after he had said he was in Silverstone.
mouronroute: You nearly got it right, with the exception of the whole Ilmor Engineering part of it. The original company was simply called Ilmor and not Ilmor Engineering. It was Ilmor that Mercedes purchased. Ilmor Engineering did not come about until 2005, when (following Morgan's death) Illien repurchased the Special Projects branch of the now Mercedes owned company and renamed it Ilmor Engineering. Run completely independently of Mercedes, Ilmor Engineering is owned by Illien and Penske and primarily works with Honda in America but did in 2007 have an input in MotoGP.
Voodoopenguin. in the village mate.
The car is his name or is it the name is his car? In the summer he is MGA.
touronroute - are you in the village or at the circuit?
MGA, I,M IN SILVERSTONE AND ITS PISSING DOWN.
BILL MAC, i was just told, one big firm, could become two, or three or four, or maybe more,or ilmor, and never put your eggs in one basket.
hjlio oi hate to agree these guys but you are a tit.

you have to grow up!
sorry for split posts and full stops, invalids are killing me...
Even I know the roundabout. I helped a relative do up their house in Old and the council dump, sorry Recycling Centre, is near that junction. Hadn't realised until I looked on Google Earth as I just followed the directions my nephew gave me. So we all seem to know of this roundabout and some have even been round it but one person, who appears to have gone a bit quiet, doesn't believe it.
and in a scooby doo style, if it hadn't been for you pesky kids, he'd have gotten away with it.
I kn.ow it's obv.ious now he thi.nks ab.out it, but at the ti.me it se.emed so plau.sible
