Australia international Nick Carle claims the club's reputation for free-flowing football was behind his move to Bristol City.The midfielder has moved to Ashton Gate from Turkish side Genclerbirligi for an undisclosed fee, signing a contract until 2011.

Carle told City's official website: "From what I've heard and what I've been told, the gaffer loves playing football.

"That was a big bonus for me after being told of the interest (from City). They are known for playing good football here and that's exactly how I like to do things.

"The team has been doing brilliantly for the past two seasons, and they are doing fantastically well at the moment. I'm looking forward to the challenge to add my bit to the team when I can."

He added: "I can see why the team is doing so well. The boys are great and the coaching set-up and everything around the club is excellent."
