Accrington's record signing Ian Craney scored one and made two more but it was not enough for victory as they drew 3-3 with Chester.Craney returned to the club from Swansea for £85,000 on Friday but Chester twice fought back from behind to ensure Stanley drew at home for the first time this season.
Chester took the lead in the ninth minute when a free-kick was headed down by Paul Linwood and Chris Holroyd tapped home, but Stanley levelled against the run of play when Andy Proctor hooked home a Craney free kick on 37 minutes.
Stanley took the lead after 62 minutes when Roscoe D'Sane's shot was blocked by goalkeeper John Danby and Craney looped the ball home.
Six minutes later it was all square again when Lawrie Wilson curled the ball into the top of the net, only for Stanley to regain the lead in the 73rd minute when D'Sane netted from a Craney corner.
But the home side again could not hold on to their lead and four minutes later Holroyd had another easy tap-in from a Linwood knock down.
