Sat 05 Jan, 07:00 PM

Carlisle came back from two goals down to win 3-2 at home to Port Vale and go second in League One, while Leeds saw off Northampton 3-0.Paul Harsley (27) and Danny Whitaker (38) put Vale ahead before half-time at Brunton Park on Saturday.

However, the Cumbrians bounced back in style in the second period through Luke Joyce (50) and two goals from Simon Hackney (65 and 69).

Vale stay bottom of the table, nine points from safety, while Carlisle are just two points behind leaders Swansea, albeit having played a game more.

And two points further back in fourth place are Leeds, who remain firmly in the hunt for an immediate return to the Championship after a convincing victory over Northampton at Elland Road kept them in the play-off zone.

Frazer Richardson (43), Rui Marques (52) and Curtis Weston (90) were on target to ensure the Yorkshire outfit took full advantage of their rivals' participation in the FA Cup third round to keep the pressure on at the top of the table.
