League Two high-flyers Hereford earned an FA Cup third-round replay at home to Tranmere following a 2-2 draw at Prenton Park on Saturday. There were few chances in the opening period when the visitors were content to soak up home pressure and Wayne Brown made a couple of important saves for the visitors.

Calvin Zola wasted two great chances for Tranmere before Hereford went ahead in the 65th minute, man-of-the-match Ben Smith volleying home in style after a poor clearance.

Craig Curran was unlucky to see a close-range shot deflected over for Tranmere but they levelled after 75 minutes with Steven Jennings netting with a shot which went in off the crossbar.

Hereford went straight back up-field to take the lead in the 76th minute with a great strike by Trevor Benjamin after he was set up by Theo Robinson.

But Tranmere refused to lie down and Gareth Taylor levelled when heading in a Paul McLaren cross in the 78th minute.
