Blackpool boss Simon Grayson is hoping some FA Cup success will help his side kick on with their league campaign. The Tangerines face fellow Championship outfit Barnsley in the FA Cup third round on Saturday and Grayson believes that although the league is the focus, a repeat of their Carling Cup run would boost the morale within his team.
He told the club's official website: "I think we'd prefer to have a league rather than a cup game coming up now to continue the momentum that we have carried forward over the Christmas period and New Year.
"But, it's another game, and it's another game that we will try and go to win and we've had a good cup run this season with Derby and Tottenham, so yes we want to win every game and we want to progress because if you win football matches it breads even more confidence.
"What it does as well is, if we beat Barnsley at the weekend, we have beaten another team in our division, so that can set us up for the Charlton and Ipswich games in the following weeks."
