Everton duo Yakubu and Joseph Yobo have been granted permission by Nigeria to play in Tuesday's Carling Cup semi-final against Chelsea.

The Nigerian Football Association have allowed the pair, along with Chelsea's Jon Obi Mikel, to join up with Berti Vogts' squad after the first-leg tie.

The Toffees are still waiting for a response from the South African Football Association as to whether Steven Pienaar will also be able to compete in the clash.

The African Nations Cup gets underway in Ghana on January 20.
