Ipswich manager Jim Magilton has dismissed speculation he is planning to sign Dundee United goalkeeper Grzegorz Szamotulski.

Magilton was an interested spectator at the match between United and Hearts in midweek, where the Poland shot-stopper started for the home side.

The Tractor Boys boss knows he has some big decisions to make in the next couple of weeks, with a host of players out of contract in the summer, but he insists signing Szamotulski is not one of them.

He told the Ipswich Evening Star: "He's not one that I am interested in. He was playing but then so were 21 other players.

"I can remember playing my last three years here with one year left on my contract and I was happy with that. It may not be ideal for everyone but that may be what has to happen.

"If we feel we can bring in better players we will and if that means having to clear the decks a little then we will."
