Caley waiting on Pressley decision

Mon 05 Jan, 08:45 AM

Craig Brewster will find out this week whether Steven Pressley has accepted Inverness' offer of a playing contract until the end of the season. The central defender is currently on the look-out for a new club after finishing his spell with Danish club Randers.

The 35-year-old has been offered a contract until the end of the season on a playing basis.

Brewster said: "I have spoken to Steven and he has got alternatives on the continent so we will just have to wait and see what he decides. We will find out what his decision is later this week."

Following Sunday's 3-0 home defeat to Rangers, Caley have now lost their last six games in the league and are currently sitting bottom with 17 points.

However, Brewster believes he is under no more pressure than any other manager in the SPL.

He added: "At the end of the day, there is pressure on managers whether you are at the top or the bottom of the league.

"If you are at the top of the league you are trying to win the title, if you are mid-table you are trying to break into that top six and if you are at the bottom you are trying to win games to get out of that situation.

"We are all desperately trying to win football matches."

  1. Inverness's cup final is on the 27th of january, a must win game, would hate to see the Accies go down, they have been great, would much rather see one of those diddy teams who always end up in the middle of the table every year go down, they have no ambition, none whatsoever, time for some new young managers, i think when you've spent five years in a league so small and never done anything your ambition is bound to disappear up your own arse, and i think you should be moved out.

  2. Craig was a great manager before and you dont just become a bad manager, results have been poor recently but that's football, Inverness have been punching above their weight for a good few years now, largely due to Brewster, so a wee dose of reality wont do any harm, good luck Craig.
