Lens confirm Prem bids for Dindane

Mon 05 Jan, 10:45 AM

Lens have confirmed receiving offers for Stoke, Portsmouth and West Brom target Aruna Dindane, but insist the striker will not leave on loan.Dindane is a target for a number of clubs, both in the Premier League and in Europe, and reports have suggested the interested parties want to sign the Ivory Coast forward on loan with a view to a permanent deal as he has not played since May due to a knee injury.

Stoke sent chief executive Tony Scholes to France over the festive period to discuss a possible deal and Lens chairman Gervais Martel has confirmed there have been offers from England.

However, he insists Dindane will only move permanently and says the Ligue 2 club have yet to receive a suitable bid

"We have some offers," said Martel to Le 10 Sport. "One thing is for sure - Aruna won't be loaned out, he will be transferred permanently.

"We have started to receive transfer offers. We have a few offers from England, but they are not alone.

"I can just say the fee stated in the press is clearly not enough. If we don't receive offers that will satisfy us, we will keep him until the end of the season."

Dindane would cost at least £5million, with some reports claiming he could cost as much as £7million.

  2. Don't worry the Baggies will not be spending that kind of money! Apparently we are skint??? Why spend £7m on an injured has been when there are the likes of James Beattie, Craig Mackail-Smith, Leroy Lita, Ebanks-Blake, Matty Fryatt, Kevin Doyle adn others out there who wouldn't command such a fee????

  3. 7 million? You're having a laugh.

As previously stated, he's past his prime, injury prone and obviously overpriced. Only one reason why a club won't loan a player out in January.... they know he won't impress and therefore won't be able to sell him.

As a Baggies fan I hope we don't sign this bloke.
