Grimsby manager Mike Newell is hoping to secure the futures of three loan players in the near future at the League Two club.Newell is keen to keep Rob Atkinson, Adam Proudlock and Jean Paul Kalala at Blundell Park, and will also keep tabs on former loanee Liam Trotter at Ipswich.
He told the club's official website: "If we can do something permanently with at least two of them, that would be ideal.
"That would allow us to free up some loan signings between now and the end of the season. And you know you've got a bit of stability.
"The loan players have done really well for us down the back-bone of the side. If we hadn't had them we could be in a real desperate position now.
"I know that the chairman will back us, as he has done previously. It is important that we start afresh now. It is almost like the season is starting again."
