Champions League - Buffon returns for Juventus

Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon is one of several first team players back to full fitness after being out for three months with a muscle tear in his right leg.
"Buffon, Cristiano Zanetti, Christian Poulsen and Hasan Salihamidzic are fully recovered," bianconeri coach Claudio Ranieri said.
"Tiago is on the way to being fit while David Trezeguet is ahead of schedule but will return to the group only when the surgeon gives the okay."
Trezeguet, who had knee surgery in September, will therefore miss the home league game with Siena on Sunday January 11 when Serie A gets back underway after a three-week mid-season break.
The former France striker will also miss a friendly at Monaco on Tuesday January 6.
Juventus lie second in the Serie A standings, six points behind leaders Internazionale.
They travel to Chelsea for the first leg of their Champions League last 16 tie on February 25 with the return leg in Milan on March 10.

Welcome back Gianluigi! You are the best keeper in the world. Juventus will definitely win the Champions League and the scudetto. I hope that they'll sign in Lionel Messi, too!
Having Gigi Buffon back will be like signing a new player. Alex Manninger has done a great job and has proved a top class replacement, but Buffon is still the best in the world and his return will be a massive boost for the championship run in and our continued assault on the Champions League. Having Trezaguet back will increase our firepower, he is still the best penalty box striker in the world and along with Alex and Amauri, Raneri will have great striking options. I can't wait for the Chelsea match, because I am very confinent Juve can win home and away and destroy Abramovich's Champions League dream. FORZA JUVE!!!!!
