FA Cup - Liverpool draw Everton in Cup

Eurosport - Mon, 05 Jan 22:23:00 2009

Liverpool and Everton have been drawn to play at Anfield in the FA Cup fourth round.

FOOTBALL 2008/09 Premier League Liverpool's Fernando Torres scores against Everton - 0

The Merseyside derby is accompanied by another clash between local rivals as Championship sides Derby County and Nottingham Forest - who won 3-0 at Manchester City in the third round - battle it out at Pride Park.

Cardiff City earned a home game against Arsenal, while Tottenham Hotspur face Manchester United at Old Trafford after United beat Southampton 3-0 in their third-round match.

Hartlepool United's giant-killing antics against Stoke City hand them another Premier League side to entertain with cash-strapped West Ham up next.

Another all Premier League clash is Sunderland's home game against Blackburn Rovers.

Of the non-league sides Kettering will host Fulham; Torquay will entertain Coventry; and Histon will travel to either Bristol City or holders Portsmouth if they beat Swansea City.

Middlesbrough face a tricky trip to either Birmingham City or Wolverhampton Wanderers: the Midlands rivals are fighting it out for the Championship but their third-round tie was postponed due to a frozen pitch.

  1. Shaun (comment 135): Not entirely fair mate.We (Liverpool Fans) aren't all glory hunters.I was born late 60's and have followed them good and bad for many years.I enjoy banter with fans of all so-called rival clubs and if you check the posts under an article about Tevez yesterday, you'll see that I apologised to United Fans for not remembering Gabriel Heinze's name at the time.
Can't say I'd not love to see Liverpool win the EPL,FA Cup etc this season, but if they don't,I'm sure I'll get over it.

  2. Liverpool are a great team, which is obvious, and i wont be unfair or biased and say they are not because history proves they are great but i hope United do well, only for the simple reason so Liverpool cant toot their horn too loud.
Just say Everton win either the the Derby Clash in premiership game or the fa cup, then we still cant enjoy the moment because we get liverpool fans saying how many have you won and so on ........We can never win ( Really).
They just cant take it on the chin and say great game mate well done they moan lol

  3. Liverpool FC is passion for the fans,if you search for glory hunters you can find across scum fans or chelsea or real madrid fans.......in fact they have more fans searching for glory than real football fans which is shame.

    Valid points indeed regarding silent-screamz,
If it helps to get to find the reason for his
most unsavioury utteraccess you may not need
to look much beyond the fact that he is in fact
A rampent homosexual who frequents certain gay bars
    in the Bristol area.
    Hope this helps!

  5. FAST EDDY Dead right liverpool fans cant cope with compertition thats why they they have to slang off man u chelsea & arsenal all the time they are just a bunch of sad little glory hunters most of which know nothing about football & only call themselves liverpool fans because they were born in the 80's when liverpool were the best around where as the rest of us either chose our local team or one for how they played not how much they were winning

  8. Coment 133, as you're a blue, i wouldnt expect you to understand what the feeling of winning something feels like.
Liverpool have high standards and the rivalry with manc-u-inc,is fierce because we are really the only two teams in england with such an illustrious history, you should know this , as you live in the same city as us,and we rub your blue noses in it at every oppertunity

  9. I'm a blue but why do Liverpool hate United so much, is it because they cant handle the competition from them or are they catching up to them.
I support Everton but why do so many reds curse and moan all the time, they think they should win everything and cry when they dont.

  14. @Shaun - well mate how the season will progres you`ll see that EPL is all that matters for LFC ,although for the fans it would be great Champions league final LFC vs Barcelona.

BTW mark my words "there will be very few teams that can outplay LFC this season "
