Accrington Stanley have extended the loan of defender Kieran Charnock until the end of the season from League One club Peterborough.

Charnock, 24, moved to the Fraser Eagle Stadium on an emergency loan in October, but will now remain with Stanley until May 2.

The full-back, who has made 15 appearances for John Coleman's side this season, will miss out against Darlington at the weekend after he picked up his fifth booking of the season in the 3-1 defeat at Rochdale.

Charnock started his career at Wigan but dropped into non-league football before joining Posh from Northwich Victoria in 2007.

The former England C international failed to secure a regular spot under boss Darren Ferguson and was listed for loan in order to secure more first-team football.
