Southend striker Lee Barnard will receive the results of a scan on Tuesday to discover the full extent of his hamstring injury.Barnard, who has netted twice in two starts for the Shrimpers, limped off during Saturday's 2-2 draw with Leyton Orient.
And having only recently joined the League Two side in the January transfer window, he remains hopeful his injury is not as bad as first feared.
"I should be getting the results of the scan on Tuesday and then I will know how bad it is," the 23-year-old told the club's official website.
"Since the weekend things have settled down a bit so I am hoping it will be good news.
"But if the results come back that there is a tear or something then I am going to be out for a little while. That would be really frustrating given the start I have made here."
