Brightwell: Forget about drought

Tue 05 Feb, 03:46 PM

Macclesfield manager Ian Brightwell has urged his side to forget about their recent goalscoring woes ahead of the game against Lincoln. The Silkmen dominated against Bradford at the weekend, but were unable to find the net and ended up losing 1-0.

Brightwell told the club's official website: "We need to be more clinical in front of goal. It's incredibly frustrating.

"It is just not happening for us in front of goal and at the end of the day its goals and results that count.

"Thankfully we have an early opportunity to put matters right. I don't want our home form to become a monkey on our backs so it is important we don't beat ourselves up too much.

"The best way to ensure it doesn't is to ensure we put in another good display against Lincoln but be more productive when we get into their penalty box. It is vital that we bounce back."
