Cook raring to go with Addicks

Tue 05 Feb, 01:30 PM

Lee Cook is relishing his loan move to Charlton and cannot wait to show his new manager Alan Pardew what he is capable of.The Fulham winger signed on loan for the Addicks on transfer deadline day last week and the 25-year-old says he hopes to play an integral part of their push for promotion.

Cook is nearing full fitness after a hip injury he sustained during his rehabilitation from a long-term knee injury but he insists he's almost 100% and raring to go.

He told the club's official website: "I can't wait to get started. I'm really pleased to be here. It's a great club and I'm looking forward to getting the first game under my belt and hopefully playing a lot of games here.

"Obviously I've been out for a while, but I don't want people to think I've come here to use this as a place to get fit. I want to show the Charlton fans what I can do.

"I was out for five months with a knee injury, and then in my first game back, I unfortunately strained a muscle in my hip. That was three weeks ago and now I'm only a week away from resuming full training again, so I'm hoping to probably make my debut for Charlton in the Watford game if things go to plan."
