Rochdale striker Chris Dagnall admits he is enjoying being on the road to recovery after returning to training this week following surgery.Dagnall is back in training after undergoing knee surgery following the cruciate ligament damage he sustained in the game against Macclesfield towards the end of September.

He told the club's official website: "Things are going really well and I am starting to enjoy it now. We are in the gym every day with Andy Thorpe now doing strengthening and cardio work which is a lot better than doing nothing.

"The knee is feeling good and everything seems to coming along nicely. I have had no setbacks or problems so am very happy with the way that things are going.

"There is a massive difference between general fitness and match fitness but as soon as I can get back to the stage of being ready for full time training the match fitness will come back quickly."
