Motherwell boss Mark McGhee cannot guarantee he will be at Fir Park next season as his name continues to be linked with high-profile jobs.McGhee was rumoured to be interesting Southampton and Hearts after being interviewed for the Scotland post.
The former Celtic striker told the Scottish Football Association he would remain at Fir Park until the summer as he felt he had a moral responsibility to stay for one full season.
But, even with no concrete offers on the table, McGhee will not give cast-iron guarantees that he will stay beyond then.
McGhee twice left clubs for more attractive jobs at the start of his managerial career - but later admitted "embarrassment" at walking out on Leicester for Wolves less than a year after joining from Reading.
But he parted company with Wanderers, Millwall and Brighton despite making a positive initial impact at each outfit.
His immediate transformation of Motherwell from relegation candidates to European challengers made him one of the favourites for the Scotland job and will continue to see him linked with bigger clubs.
And McGhee is not about to complain after spending most of last season unemployed.
"There's a lot of speculation about a lot of jobs, last week it was Southampton, before that the Scotland thing," he told BBC Scotland.
"I can't say it's not a favourable thing for any manager to be linked with top jobs. It's great. "But I'm totally committed, everyone knows that, there's no ambiguity. I am going to be at Motherwell until the summer and we will see what happens after that."
McGhee denied he was thinking about leaving in the summer but he added: "Sometimes these things take on a life of their own. "There are a lot of jobs that come and go that would be attractive to any manager. If some of those are put in front of me, like any player or manager, I would have to consider them.
"But, at the moment, that is pure speculation. I have no job on the table that I could say is the job I'm going to be in next year.
"At the moment, I'm going to be in the Motherwell job next year."
Motherwell are scheduled to face Dundee tonight in the Scottish Cup fifth round pending the wet weather, which has claimed their last three games.
Motherwell had to request players to be freed from international duty after the game was rearranged on Friday.
Northern Ireland released Stephen Craigan from their friendly against Bulgaria, while Scotland Under-21 stars Ross McCormack, Mark Reynolds and Marc Fitzpatrick missed out on a tournament in Portugal.
But McGhee hopes the chance to set up a quarter-final tie at Queen of the South can make up for the disappointment.
He said: "Ross McCormack is one of these boys who wants to play football all the time, all he wants to do is shoot at the goals, I've got to hold him back sometimes.
"He will have wanted to play for Scotland - he enjoys it - but equally he will want to go as far in the cup as he can."
