Midfielder Antony Sweeney insists he is content with life at Hartlepool despite being placed on the Victoria Park transfer list in January. The 24-year-old is in line to make his 130th appearance for the club when the Pools travel to Southend on Saturday and insists he is happy with his role within the side - albeit a new one with manager Danny Wilson opting to play him as a right-back.
"I would rather not talk about the contract situation because it is just something in the background," he told the Northern Echo. "I have never said I wouldn't sign a contract, it is just not at the minute.
"We will just see where it goes.
"I have never said I want to leave the club. I have been here seven years now. I think at 24 I am the second-longest serving player. It is a big part of my life, I live in the town as well."
