Carlisle's deadline-day signing Cleveland Taylor has asked fans to remain patient with him after failing to impress on his Blues debut. The winger conceded he was short of match fitness but put his below-par performance down to a virus he contracted prior to his Brunton Park switch.
Taylor managed just over an hour in Carlisle's 2-1 win over Walsall, and told the News and Star: "I've not played for a month, I've been ill for a while and the transfer took such a while to sort out, so all those things put together don't really help.
"I was absolutely shattered on Saturday because it's been such a long time since I played. It was a heavy pitch too but it was just so good to get back out there and my fitness levels will get better.
"It will take three or four games before I'm tip-top - there's a lot more to come."
