Trio return to boost Lions squad

Tue 05 Feb, 03:15 PM

Manager Kenny Jackett was happy to see Ryan Smith, Zak Whitbread and Tom Brighton returned to training to ease the injury list at Millwall. The Lions are currently languishing one place above the League One relegation zone and have won just two of their last eight games.

And their bid to avoid the drop into League Two has not been helped by the fact nine first-team players are currently ruled out through injury.

But speaking to the club's official website, physio Bobby Bacic said: "Ryan Smith has started training with the senior squad, and Tom Smith is also in a similar position, although he will be training with the youth team first as he has been injured alot longer.

"Chris Day (ankle) and Dave Brammer (knee) are working hard on their rehab and Zak Whitbread (toe) has returned to training.

"Also, goalkeeper Rhys Evans has started treatment after sustaining a dead leg against Doncaster and he should be available for the Forest match."
