Liverpool midfielder Yossi Benayoun escaped a suicide bomb attack in Israel on Monday.

The 27-year-old was visting family members in his home town of Dimona when the attack, which left one person dead and wounded six, happened.

Benayoun, who heard the explosion, escaped unhurt and has declared himself available for Wednesday's friendly international with Romania.

"Everything is OK with me but I'm not important," Benayoun told The Sun.

"Those who really matter are the people of my home town."
